COMPANY PROFILE
Folláin Traditional Irish Preserves are made in Cuil Aodha, West Cork by Peadar and Máirín O’ Lionaird. A 100-year old recipe, passed on through several generations, was the secret of Folláin's first product, chunky grapefruit marmalade. Building on this modest beginning, preparing the fruit and cooking in kitchen-style conditions, Folláin has grown steadily, increasing its range of jams & marmalades and expanding to what is now a modern food factory, built and fully equipped to the highest standards. Traditional home-cooked methods are at the heart of the unique Folláin taste where all product recipes have remained the same over the last 32 years. Based in the Muscraí Gaeltacht, Folláin is the Irish word for wholesome –the product range has stayed true to this ethos by producing good quality wholesome food at a fair price, whilst providing good sustainable local employment. Folláin has always traded on the quality of its products and compete very successfully with the now very popular, and much more expensive, artisan foods at the Guild of Fine Foods, Great Taste Awards and Blas na hEireann awards winning many gold, silver and bronze awards over the years. The Folláin range now features four different types of products which remain to this day free from artificial ingredients – Extra Fruit Traditional Irish Jams and Marmalades, the No Added Sugar Range of Jams and Marmalades and the No Added Salt or Sugar Range of Relishes – as well as a highly regarded range of catering chutneys and relishes. |
