Sustainable products and innovative services took the spotlight on the opening day of CATEX, supported by Calor and Bunzl McLaughlin, Ireland’s largest foodservice and hospitality event.
Taking place at the RDS, Simmonscourt, the Irish Foodservice Supplier Awards (IFSA Awards) - themed around ‘Environmental Sustainability and the Circular Economy’ – showcase the latest advancements that are helping to shape a greener, more efficient future for the sector. Established by the Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance (IFSA), and sponsored by Gas Networks Ireland, the awards celebrate products and services introduced to the market since December 2023, spanning categories that reflect the industry's dedication to environmental responsibility and cutting-edge innovation, including carbon emissions reduction, food waste minimisation, the elimination of single-use plastics, and water management. Entrants were required to demonstrate how their products and services actively reduce environmental impact in line with government and climate regulations, showcasing the industry’s ongoing commitment to a greener future. The announcement coincides with BWG Foodservice winning the National Foodservice Supplier of The Year award for the second successive year at the Catex 2025 Hospitality Exhibition at the RDS this week. BWG Foods registered sales of €219 million in 2024, marking an 8 per cent increase on 2023 and against the backdrop of ongoing pressures across the food and hospitality industry. The strong growth has been driven by the continued expansion of BWG Foodservice’s nationwide reach where it attracted double digit growth in customer numbers and secured a number of significant supply contracts. ![]() Nevilles is excited to announce the opening of its new Ireland Distribution Centre in partnership with DSV. This state-of-the-art logistics facility, located at the Baldonnell Business Park in Baldonnell, Dublin, spans 65,000 square feet and will house over 3,000 product lines. This new centre will enable Nevilles to provide a consistent and reliable service to customers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with next-day delivery on orders placed before 4pm. |
