As the industry begins to look forward to a world where we are 'living with COVID', it is imperative that the sector works together to ensure a safe working environment for staff where businesses can adapt and move towards profitable and safe trading once again.

KITCHEN SPECIFIC COVID-19 OPERATING GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES 

Given the joint expertise and experience that exist within Chef Network and IFSA as chefs and suppliers spanning all sectors and services, we believe we are the correct authority to create Kitchen Specific Covid19 Operating Guidelines and Procedures to support the industry as it re-opens.
 
The aim would be:
  • To create a Foodservice Sector Covid19 Pandemic – Standard Operating Procedure for Kitchens
  • To circulate this govt/HSE/state agencies and to the industry so that it can be widely adopted.

Sale of Clayton Hotel Charlemont strengthens Dalata cash resources

RTE news is reporting that Dalata Hotel Group has said that the sudden onset of Covid-19 has had a very significant impact on its business and the outlook for the rest of the year remains uncertain.

In a statement issued ahead of its AGM today, Dalata said that revenue per available room (RevPAR) fell by 24.3% at its Dublin hotels, 14% at its regional Ireland hotels and 18.6% at its UK hotels.

McDonald's testing options for re-opening in Ireland and UK

RTE is today reporting that McDonald's is carrying out operational tests this week to explore what reopening its restaurants in the UK and Ireland might involve. 

However, the UK restaurant where the testing is taking place remains closed to the public.
