If the Covid 19 infection rate in New York State remains at current levels, restaurants in New York City will be allowed to reopen on Valentine's Day, February 14 - with a 25 percent occupancy rate. The percentage of positive results on all Corona tests had dropped from 7.1 percent in early January to 4.9 percent now, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said at a news conference. A detailed overview provides information on all the requirements restaurateurs must follow to restart. The September 2019 regulations apply: capacity restrictions, table spacing of just under 6 feet or more, mandatory temperature controls, contact tracing and improvements to filtration systems. The NYC hospitality industry had been closed to indoor dining from mid-March through the end of September, and was most recently banned again in December.
In addition, Governor Cuomo announced that wedding receptions may resume on March 15, in accordance with state guidelines. However, the events must be approved by the local health department. There will be a 50 percent capacity limit and no more than 150 people can attend. All guests must also be tested prior to the event. Comments are closed.
