Taste The Atlantic Young Chef Ambassadors Enjoy Their First Excursion to Sligo!

​Check out the highlights from first excursion with our Taste The Atlantic Young Chef Ambassadors for 2023 which included producer visits and a demonstration of the Lobster V-notching conservation programme by BIM. 

​A massive thank you to Mullaghmore Sea Farms, Wild Atlantic Oyster and Sligo Oyster Experience for welcoming the chefs and imparting such valuable knowledge of your wonderful produce.  

​​Next in the programme, chefs will be paired up with individual Taste the Atlantic Seafood producers for in-depth on-site visits. Later in the summer, the ambassadors will visit producers on excursions in West Cork and North Donegal, as well as benefiting from mentoring with Ciaran Sweeney, Head Chef at the Olde Glen Bar in Carrigart, Co. Donegal and a fish filleting workshop with Master Fishmonger, Hal Dawson.  

Now in its third year, the programme is led by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), Ireland’s Seafood Development Agency, in collaboration with Fáilte Ireland, and is coordinated by Chef Network.
